Details on MicroFIT & FIT

MicroFIT:

With great financial returns and unparalleled environmental benefits, the microFIT program is arguably the best personal investment of our time.  The microFIT program allows home and small business owners to install solar on their properties for the purpose of generating income through the power production.  The Ontario Power Authority has fixed rates which they will pay to the system owner for all power produced from the solar system.  These rates are guaranteed for a period of 20 years, and are paid directly to the owner by the utility company servicing the property.  As part of the program the OPA has mandated that there be a minimum amount of locally made product in each solar system being installed. This has been done to help build Ontario’s manufacturing sector.  The table in the tab below describes what percentage of each project components will achieve when sourced locally.  The process of getting started is simple and easy to navigate; any Authorized Sentinel dealer will be able to take care of the microFIT application, and all the necessary permits.

FIT:

For many years the roof tops of commercial buildings have been expensive liabilities. The FIT program has changed that commercial roof tops are now profitable spaces that can be used to install income generating solar arrays under the FIT program.  The Ontario Power Authority has fixed rates which they will pay to the system owner for all power produced from the solar system.  These rates are guaranteed for a period of 20 years, and are paid directly to the owner by the utility company servicing the property.  As part of the program the OPA has mandated that there be a minimum amount of locally made product in each solar system being installed, this has been done to help build Ontario’s manufacturing sector.  The table in the tab below describes what percentage of each project components will achieve when sourced locally.  The process of getting started is a little more complex than that of the microFIT program and does have some costs associated with the application process.  Authorized Sentinel dealers will be able to provide budgetary costing for the application process, and are more than capable of taking care of the application, and all the necessary permits.
